Vaccination status and safety requirements
For anybody worried about vaccination status and safety requirements, rest assured that we are monitoring current guidance together with Oxford colleges. Our position is to require vaccinations, if possible and will keep everyone up to date about other health and safety measures. However, we are also in the fortunate situation that in the UK more than 90% of adults have been vaccinated or are being vaccinated right now, making it very unlikely any non-vaccinated attendees or staff will be present (as international travelers will most likely also have to be vaccinated to enter the country), even if law does not permit us to require vaccination information. We will of course be very happy for people to volunteer vaccination status at registration.
Protocol during the meeting
The hall, Auditorium and foyer have a high ceiling. We can leave the double doors open to the Foyer and potentially the doors from the foyer to the Auditorium but there are no windows in the Auditorium.
Some of our rooms have carbon dioxide meters in them. If the level gets too high we ask everyone to vacate and let the air circulate.
We will provide alcohol-based hand sanitizers and masks.
We will advise people to wear masks, except for the speakers for clarity of speech. We will also closely monitor the use of microphones, cleaning them in between speakers.
Protocol in case of lockdown
We are hoping that this conference will NOT become an online event. In the case of lockdown, we will reimburse attendees that have registered to the conference. If it can only happen locally, then we will try our best to substitute foreign speakers to maintain the spirit of the meeting.
